36th Cadet Class 1961-1963

Photograph of the 36th Cadet Class taken at the Cadet School, Military College, Curragh Camp. This particular Cadet Class was the class that provided President John F Kennedy with a guard of honour while he was on a state visit to Ireland in 1963. After President John F Kennedy was assassinated his wife requested that this Cadet Class provide the guard of honour for his military funeral in America, at the time of this request the 36th Cadet Class had already completed training therefore the next Cadet Class the 37th provided the military guard of honour.
